In light of recommendations from our health authorities,
we have suspended in-person gatherings.
During this season, we encourage people to worship online with us,
and for Small Groups to connect regularly using video conferencing.
As a church we are called by Jesus to show care for one another materially, socially and emotionally in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Please let us know if you'd be willing to SHARE resources OR if you are in NEED of resources.

Beginning the week of thanksgiving, we're glad to announce that we'll be opening the main floor of the building to smaller group gatherings and ministry during the week. We're working hard to get our space reading and get processes in place so that physical ministry can slowly and safely resume. Thanks again for your patience.

Right now there are two primary ways we're getting ready to be able to resume in-person gatherings. First, there's the technology that is being acquired and prepared to be able to livestream our services when we resume. Second, there's the preparation of the physical space and the processes that need to be in place to accommodate people in the building in a safe manner. We've had teams working on these two angles all summer, and we're so grateful for their efforts!

As we continue to wait for Toronto to hit "stage 3" of re-opening and the implications that will have for us, we've decided that in-person church gatherings will not resume in the month of August. This decision is due in part to the continued restrictions on public singing and a desire to ensure that we as a church adopt the safest practices possible in our common life together. We know that many are eager to be together again in person and we thank you for your patience. As always, we'll continue to keep you posted as more information becomes available.

As we continue to plan and configure our physical building to accommodate safe in-person gatherings, we're transitioning to filming our Online Services from the homes of our pastors to the church Sanctuary in a safe, socially distant way in line with governmental regulations. This is a "bridge step" that will enable us to get the technology in place we'll need to live-stream our services once we do resume in-person gatherings. We believe this will position us well as we enter the new normal that's emerging due to COVID-19 and reach as many people as possible with the good news of Jesus.

With the latest announcement from the government of Ontario that houses of worship can open at 30% capacity with proper social distancing measures in place, the leadership of First Alliance are exploring what our next steps are for returning to in-person worship gatherings and ministry.
While this is a good sign that we are drawing closer to some sense of normalcy for which many of us long, we want to be wise and careful in how we implement our plan for re-instating in-person gatherings as there are many factors to consider including changes that need to be made to our physical space and in how we will experience our Sunday morning gatherings. We’re encouraged that restrictions have been loosened and we remain committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all who enter the physical space of First Alliance.
We’ll be sending another “Returning to Church Survey” next Tuesday to help us gauge how the congregation is feeling about a return to in-person gatherings under different circumstances.
We ask for your prayers for us and your patience in this time.

In compliance with the government of Ontario's extension of emergency orders during the COVID-19 outbreak, all in-person gatherings continue to be suspended until further notice. The renewal of this emergency order is in effect until June 9, 2020. Click HERE for more info.
Let's continue to pray and not neglect the ways we can connect with one another and gather around Jesus in this time.

We have more face masks to give away to those who need them. You can come Wednesday, May 20 from 9am-noon to pick up masks (while supplies last). Please consider how you might bless your neighbours who might need masks too.
Let's keep reaching people with the love of Jesus in this time!
May 10, 2020
Last Wednesday we we're able to give away 1000 face masks to help keep people in our community safe! Currently we are out of face masks but are working on securing more to give away to those who need them. We'll keep you posted on when we get more!
April 29, 2020
We've received a donation of face masks and are making them available to the community - for those who can't afford them or who are having trouble getting hold of masks. Please take extra masks to pass along to anyone you know who is in need of them. This is a tangible way we can spread the care of Christ in this time.
You can pick up masks at FAC on Wednesdays from 9am-noon while supplies last.
APRIL 7, 2020
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the church office and facility continue to be closed.
If you need to drop off a donation or offering envelope, you can do so on Mondays from 9am-noon in the secure drop-box in the Rotunda.
As Easter approaches, may we as a church family rest in the Peace of the crucified and risen Lord who is alive and reigns over all the earth.
March 24, 2020
In light of the province of Ontario’s shutdown of all non-essential workplaces as of midnight on March 24, First Alliance Church will be shutting down it's physical facility and office. To be clear, many of our pastors and administration staff will continue to work from home, working hard to keep channels of communication, digital engagement, and finances open and running effectively.
March 19, 2020
Services Update: In accordance with the state of emergency order issued by the province of Ontario, our Sunday services for March 22 and March 29 will not be held in person. We are putting together an online interactive worship service that you participate in at home. The service for this coming Sunday will be posted to our website Sunday morning which you can access at https://firstalliancechurch.org/onlineservice
All gatherings at First Alliance Church are suspended until March 31, the current time frame of the state of emergency order in the province of Ontario. This suspension of gatherings will be reassessed as that time.
Not being able to hold in-person worship services has a significant impact on our finances as a church. Donating to the church allows us to preach the gospel, make disciples, support others in our community who need help, and pay our bills. Please keep the finances of FAC in mind, both as an item for prayer and as you consider your own financial contribution.
A reminder of ways to give:
E-Transfer: add FAC as the interac e-Transfer recipient using the email ID firstname.lastname@example.org
In Person: The FAC church office will remain open (9am-3pm) for donation envelopes to be dropped off in person or mail in.
Attached is a flyer with more detailed instructions for how you can give to the ministries of FAC.
